SURVEY AND INVESTIGATION OF THE BELL TOWER.

The study found that the vibrations induced by the ringing of the bell cause an oscillatory motion that causes various structural damages.

Some infiltrations on the walls bordering another building cause the phenomenon of rising damp. This means that the restoration project presented includes the elimination of the problems at the source with an external intervention as well as the structural consolidation and restoration work of the opaque infill and the finishing streaks inside the church.

The models created by the studio demonstrate how   the lateral thrust caused by the retaining wall of an adjacent architectural structure is damaging the structure of the intra church. According to the studies carried out, the thrust could cause a rotary movement of the façade which, if it were to become too strong and taken to the extreme, would cause it to overturn. However, the provisional works are now preventing a worsening of the current damage.

As part of the restoration project, a method was also studied for

make the ecclesiastical complex self-sufficient. The "coppo fv" solution is the most suitable from the point of view of integration on the artifact but still too economically disadvantageous, especially for systems greater than 10 kW, as in the case of this church.

A small plant built in the surrounding areas could satisfy this need. The project has therefore sized this plant by placing it at the back of the complex.
