The territory, characterized by the relationship with the local context and green tourism, are some of the main aspects on which this project focuses, which aims to promote the design, as well as the development, of new attractive social centers integrated with the recovery of the existing building heritage. The basis of the project in question is the recovery of the building heritage, which means also intervening on the surrounding urban fabric by revaluing it. In Sabina, and also more generally within the Lazio region, there are local realities in which places such as squares and streets appear to have lost the leadership of aggregating elements; what they were responsible for in the past. The idea of recovering the spaces of historical memory according to principles of innovation, also arises from the need to give them a second chance and/or to use them to host events or even temporary expos, which are able to recall the importance that these areas had in the past, as centers of cultural and social life of the cities themselves. The design challenge involves the integration of sustainable systems within complex and stratified historical contexts, a topic of great current discussion. The initiative was born in order to provide a tool capable of integrating and mending the Sabina area, as the main scenario for the development of the project which would like to merge new technologies with the testimony of the past given by the ancient buildings.
