RECONVERSION OF THE NEUENHAGEN AREA IN BERLIN
Exhibition setup and proposal Community Involvement Project, a project for Inclusion in Brandenburg - Germany. Year 2012
The project involved the reconversion of an area adjacent to a station near "Neuenhagen bei Berlin", a hamlet of the city of Berlin in Germany. The design approach was that of Community Involvement Design, characterized by the participation of local citizens. Three ancient buildings in handmade bricks were the object of the intervention, they were surveyed and redesigned. Subsequently, the design phase focused on the expectations and needs of the users. The design drawings therefore enhanced the three ancient buildings as places of cultural exchange and conviviality, with a large adjacent green space. Each area was studied in relation to people's perception of the space, from the theme of welcome upon arrival and in the rest areas which involved a careful study of the signage and wayfinding, floor guides and handrails present in each common area. Green is the main protagonist of the area and constant visual contact is maintained even inside the ancient farmhouses.
