# TERRITORIAL UNION SYSTEM

 

The initiative had a dual purpose: to enhance the FEC's heritage and to initiate a progressive development of the territory capable of involving also the spaces and areas surrounding the buildings themselves.
The projects have developed on a broad vision, which includes not only the restoration of individual buildings, but also extended planning up to a social, as well as environmental, context.
The ultimate goal of the entire process is to enable synergistic involvement with local authorities in the recovery of areas adjacent to the assets themselves, whether they are located within historic centers or in more peripheral areas.
The initiative was able to develop thanks to the funding of the above-mentioned Call for Proposals from the Lazio region, which provided for the division of the two projects into two distinct phases, an initial one of learning abroad, the second final one of application of the acquired tools, within the Lazio region, at the Prefecture of Rieti. Thanks to this synergy, we collaborated with the aNNo Architecten studio of the city of Gent, Belgium, which offered consultancy on the delicate design aspects where the intervention of contemporary structures on ancient pre-existing structures was foreseen.
